Welcome back to the new school year and the start of Grade 6. I have had the pleasure of teaching most of you in the past. This is an advantage as we know each other's expectations and abilities. We will be able to use the time of getting to know each other for developing the skills we will be learning this year. Although my style and personality may not change, I intend on bringing new creative ideas to the classroom to keep things fresh and new. I look forward to working with all of you this year and sharing memories and learning together. The relationships we have built in the past will help us all ease into a year of uncertainty.
I will continue to use this blog for class updates, class announcements and expectations. Please review the blog daily to keep up with the class expectations. This will be very useful for students who may be away due to illness or any other reason. You can access the blog from anywhere to keep up with work, concepts and expectations. There is no excuse to not complete work or honour due dates with the blog. If you are at home for any reason, you will be able to review the work using this blog. You will also be able to see due dates and upcoming events. Most of the assignments will also be able to be dome at home on a device.
Items
We are encouraging each student to use their own supplies this year. I will provide a list of recommended items you will need.
Binder, Pencil Case (pens/pencils), calculator and math set (protractor), ruler, markers/pencil crayons, scissors, lined paper, hand sanitizer, kleenex box, water bottle, protective face masks
There is no need for a lock this year as the lockers are off limits.
Communication
The best way to reach me is through email. You can also call the school and leave a voice message if you prefer. This blog will be your daily communication tool as well.

I intend on using technology a lot this year to cut down on the use of paper. This is useful any year and helps protect the environment. It will also help in these times to reduce physical items and materials coming to and from school. I will be using google docs and slides for many assignments. Most of you already know how to use and access these programs.
A reminder to view and complete the start up package for the school year. This year the start up package has been sent to you on line. That's it for now, I will be providing more details and information as the year progresses. Take care class.
Mr. Williamson
